Deep Tissue Bodywork

Here the practitioner will use her hands to feel for areas of tightness, tension or stiffness in the body. It is called deep-tissue because the practitioner will attend to the many layers of myofascia from the most superficial, being the skin, to the deeper layers close to the bones, including the many layers of muscle and fascia in-between. She will sensitively feel for what tightness is present and use her hands to discover how best to help it release. She will be using her hands to listen to the body and to guide it toward ease and balance. Sometimes the practitioner will ask you to make little movements whilst  she is working with the tight tissues as this helps to encourage the muscles to let go and to find a better way of being.Usually most of the session will include bodywork with attention to movement and self- awareness interwoven.
